5 Interchangeable Treatment Heads
The PhotonX is supplied with multiple interchangeable treatment heads to support versatility across clinical applications. Each treatment heads is made from sapphire crystal, a material chosen for its unique thermal properties. Sapphire actively conducts heat away from the epidermis (the skin’s surface) during treatment, protecting the superficial tissue while light energy passes through to reach the intended target below.

German Heraeus Xenon Flash Lamp
Two handpieces are included, each housing a German Heraeus Xenon Flash Lamp rated for 500,000 shots per lamp. Heraeus lamps are engineered for stability and longevity, reducing long-term running costs and maintaining consistent energy output over the lamp’s lifetime.
10 Interchangeable Optical Filters
Filters determine the wavelength of light delivered during treatment. Each filter is matched to a specific skin concern, skin type and treatment depth — giving practitioners precise control over every session.
Standard Cut-Off Filters
Each filter is named for the minimum wavelength it allows through. Lighter skin types generally use lower values; deeper targets and darker skin types use higher values to protect the skin surface.
Dual-Band SWT Filters
SWT (Selective Wavelength Technology) filters are designed for precision. They retain only the wavelength bands most relevant to a specific indication, removing wavelengths in between that would otherwise be absorbed by surrounding tissue. The result is more accurate targeting, less energy waste and improved comfort.
Automatic Filter Recognition
The PhotonX will not emit energy without a correctly inserted and recognised filter. This integrated safety control prevents accidental firing with an incorrect or absent filter, protecting both client and practitioner.

Fractional Pulsed Light
FPL delivers energy in targeted micro-zones rather than as a full-field exposure, making it well suited to sensitive or reactive skin types that may not tolerate standard IPL.

DermTyte is the PhotonX’s dedicated skin tightening technology. It uses near-infrared energy to stimulate collagen and elastin production deep within the skin, firming and tightening without downtime or surface injury.

Dynamic Pulsed Light with SWT
DPL uses dual-band filtering to deliver light more precisely than standard IPL, retaining the wavelengths that matter for each indication and removing those that don’t. This improves treatment accuracy, reduces discomfort and extends handpiece lifespan.
