Apollo Duet features an integrated temperature sensor in the RF handpiece, which allows clinicians to monitor patients’ skin temperature in real time and adjust parameters needed for a safe and controlled experience.
Those using Apollo Duet can precisely adjust all treatment parameters, including the target temperature of bulk dermal heating or epidermal cooling, intensity of radio frequency (RF) and electrical currents and polarity of the iontophoresis.
By carefully setting all these parameters, Apollo Duet users can tailor the skincare treatment to fit patients’ specific skin conditions, personal tolerance levels and individual goals.

Multipolar Radio Frequency
The Multipolar RF handle emits pulses of radio frequency through 4 electrodes. When these currents flow into the skin, the electromagnetic energy is transformed into heat, reaching up to 42ºC. The heat evenly spreads within the dermal matrix, causing contraction of existing collagen fibres and stimulating production of new collagen and elastin, through neocollagenesis.
This results in firmer, tighter-looking skin, with increased tissue hydration and a softer appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Inbuilt Heat Sensor
The device’s RF handle incorporates a built-in heat sensor, indicating patients’ skin temperature in real time. This is not merely a safety mechanism to prevent skin burns, but also allows for a treatment that’s precisely tailored to patients’ skin concerns.
Improved Efficacy
When conducted on saturated skin, RF devices have a much greater anti-ageing and skin rejuvenation impact.
Using the Apollo Duet’s combined technologies function, clinicians can infuse hydration into patients’ skin tissue prior to an RF treatment.
The head of the Apollo Duet RF head is flat, rather than round, with a widespread layout of 4 electrodes. The flat head is not only more comfortable for patients, but also enables much better contact with their skin, thus preventing electrical disconnections and uncomfortable (sometimes even harmful) electrical sparks.
An additional benefit of the RF handle is the emitted therapeutic light of 630 nm, which stimulates skin cell activity and further enhances collagen production.

Electroporation and Iontophoresis
By combining both technologies, Apollo Duet is designed to work across a wide range of skin concerns, including blemishes, pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles and most chronic inflammatory skin conditions, and can be used to introduce various hydrophilic electrolytes into the skin.

Electroporation
The Apollo Duet handpiece emits controlled, high-voltage electric pulses into the patients’ skin. These pulses increase cell membrane electrical conductivity and modify the lipid structure, leading to the formation of micro-channels in the outer layer of the skin.
Iontophoresis
In parallel, the same handpiece uses an electrical current, running through two electrodes, to increase the permeability of the skin cells and disperse the charged particles inserted through the micro-channels into the deeper skin tissues.
The Apollo Duet heats the skin up to 45ºC, to soften and dilate the skin, significantly improving absorption. Differing from RF, which tightens the tissue.
The handle also cools the skin down to -20ºC. This cryofacial cooling function helps calm the skin and better prepare it for those with sensitive, inflamed or irritated skin.
In combination with heating or cooling, the handpiece is designed to support the infusion of hydrophilic electrolytes into deeper skin tissues, with the aim of boosting hydration, easing the appearance of inflamed and irritated skin and brightening and smoothing skin texture.
